Payouts

Payouts move money from your pre-funded payout balance on Partli to each partner's Stripe Connect Express account. Stripe then sweeps from there to their bank on its standard schedule.

The flow

   Pre-fund your payout balance

   From Account → Billing, top up via Stripe Checkout. The amount lands in your platform balance and is tracked inusers.payout_balance_cents. You only need to fund what you actually owe partners.

2. ●

   Run payouts

   Either click Run payouts now on the Payouts page, or wait for the monthly cron (1st of the month). For each partner with approved commissions ≥ minimum payout, we:

   • Atomically debit your balance (skipped if insufficient)
   • Create a stripe.transfers.create to their Stripe account
   • Mark commissions paid; record the payout
   • If the Stripe transfer fails, automatically refund your balance

   Stripe pays the partner

   Funds appear in the partner's Stripe Express balance, then settle to their bank on their payout schedule (usually 2 business days for ACH).

Why we pre-fund (and never front money)

Partli isn't a marketplace. We don't sit between buyers and merchants — your customers pay you directly through your own Stripe account. To pay your partners, we need your money on hand. Pre-funding makes the cashflow explicit and protects us from carrying float.

What partners need to do

1. Sign in to their partner portal at /p/<workspace>
2. Click Set up Stripe payouts
3. Complete Stripe's Express onboarding (KYC, bank details — about 2 min)
4. The account.updated webhook flips them to connectStatus = active

Until they've done this, their payouts are skipped with connect_not_active.

Payout fees

Payouts Partli sends through Stripe carry a 1% Partli payout fee plus Stripe's own processing, passed through at cost: 0.25% + $2.50 per partner payout (Stripe's payout fee and its monthly active-account fee). Both are debited from your payout balance on top of the commission. Partners always receive their full commission; each payout records the total fees in fee_cents. Payouts you send through your own PayPal, Wise or bank carry no Partli fee. Fund your balance by bank transfer (free). Card top-ups aren't accepted.

Minimum payout

Each program has a minPayoutCents (default $10). Partners below this threshold are skipped with below_minimum — their commissions roll over to the next cycle.
